The sitemap is supposed to give visitors a quick overview of the whole BonaRes portal, including subprojects on different subdomains, which are not using the Apostrophe CMS, and possibly even important pages of A-Projects or related campaign sites with separate URLs.
The main Sitemap is at the URL https://stage.bonares.de/sitemap. It uses a special page type, "Sitemap", which can be set via "Page Menu"->"Page Settings"->"Basics"->"Type".
The page type "Sitemap" has a main content area, where one of two differnet widgets can be placed: A rich text widget and one called "Sitemap Item". The text widget is intended for hedings and possibly subheadings.
The "Sitemap Item" is the main building block for sitemaps. It has two modes, "Automatic" and "Manual".
The automatic mode renders the whole CMS page structure underneath the selected page, except for pages where the "Hide in Sitemap" flag has been activated under "Page Settings".
Manual mode allows to manually set up links to pages or external resources, where each of these can have a number of child items, thus creating a nested tree structure. Children of manual mode items can get set to automatic mode, to automatically render certain subtrees.
While editing, manual sitemap items get displayed in a spread-out way, to make it easier to hit the CMS edit button for each item.
